Honda Civic cd problems (1998 1.4 se)?

I have a problem with my factory fitted cd the changer selects the cd (1 to 6) but then it displays 000 after a few seconds and does not play the cd has been working ok since i owned the for about 3years any ideas Thank you for your answers
